I must have had an injury

I must have had an injury
Somewhere in the wood,
Although there was no gunshot,
And there isn't any blood,

My footsteps are unsteady.
The light looks somewhat dim.
I see my hand is shaking.
I haven't had much food.

I cannot eat; this aching
Overwhelms everything else.
Uninjured on the outside,
I hurt within myself.

Aw. I hurt with you. I mean... I feel a gentle pain when I read that. Reminded of my own hurt, within.

I thought that was beautiful. Thank you for posting it.
