So my mother is an avowing racist. Both parents sympathize with right-wing populism.

Families can be fun, for sure.
Some people don't cope well with difference so can be highly critical of anything different from themselves.
My Mother (intermittently about some things) will get this mental block thing where she simply can't seem to process my choosing something that she will not. Often about the oddest things. Like... Buying a pot. There were things I valued (a pouring spout, a steam vent) and she seemed quite determined that she would get me one for Christmas and it would NOT have a pouring spout and a steam vent.
Sigh.

My father told me about two studies that claim black people are genetically less intelligent. So my mother is an avowed, my father a (more or less) concealed racist. I dont even want to get started. The numerous ways in which they (have) ruined my life.
