Good childhood, positive and able parents? Anyone?

So the CBT people are bashing depth psychologists because they continue to do their type of therapy despite "studies" that say childhood has nothing to do with mental illness.

I have met 50-100 "patients" of whom everyone had problematic parents. Not a single one did not.

If it was genetic, then there should be people who got bad genes from good parents. I know enough about biology to be dangerous.

Im not saying that it never has to do with genes but my personal opinion is that it is not the norm as many would like you to believe.

I had amazing, unconditional loving parents, the best..with an open home. Now, my poor late Dad suffered with major depression and major anxiety. He was treated with meds). My poor Mom suffered major depression, never treated with medication.

So, got a few genetic goodies but some bad *rs* poop too..lol.
