> Thanks for the advice, but I'm really not a mean drunk. Other people don't have a problem with me drinking because most of my friends are lushes and getting drunk with me. The problem is, is when I'm alone I drink just to relax myself. And I do drink in excess just to fall asleep. But I agree that I do need some sort of help.

Thanks man, I'll really look into it. It's just hard. I was a 3 sport athlete in High School. I just never thought I'd be saying the words " Hi my name is Jake and I'm an Alcoholic"

Dude,1/2 the actors in Hollywood are.
It's no longer an ugly word.
I lot of people call themselves "addicts", because booze was not their drug of choice.
It's just that one drink got them to the drugs.
It's all the same really. My doctor told me that being an alcoholic could be the best that's ever happened to me.
I believe it. I'm no longer alone. I have a host of friends -- young and old -- girls and guys.
You'd be surprised at how many good looking girls there are. However, that's not why you're there.
You're there to get better and learn how to live life w/out booze.Dude, sobriety rocks and I can do anything sober that I did drunk, except now I don't have the pain and suffering.
Give a shot. Find a room you feel comforable in.
Go to a meeting and just listen. The only requirement to be in the room is a desire to stop drinking. You can still be using, while going to meetings. You'll like the stories.Unbelievable riches to rags to riches stories.
It's fun. No one is going to bother you, because they can relate to your situation. You're not alone and you don't have to drink.
That's the good news, bro.
Peace.
