I miss drinking

Thought I'd throw that one out there. I wish I wasn't an alcoholic so I could have that relaxing glass of wine in the evening. :O<(

I'm still not ready to admit I might be an alcoholic. It's rampant in my family, and I love the feel of a good buzz. But that doesn't mean I'm an alcoholic, right? (Don't answer that!)

I'm on drink #5 this evening. Although it's not typical, it's not terribly unusual, either. Don't tell my pdoc! It's a lovely way to avoid the feelings that are generated by my therapy.

Escaping reality,
Hannah

I know I am better without it but there are times when I obsess over it. I drank from 14-27. I am 34 now and have fallen off the wagon a few times. When I have it makes my depression and anxiety much worse. How bout you?

Hannah,
Be careful about mixing your meds with the alcohol. I know you already now its not a good idea.
How much do you drink a night? I'm not trying to be a mother :O). Just trying to help.

I don't miss drinking, it's been 18 years. But there are times I miss the ability to go out and get crazy and high for just one night and then go back to normalcy the next day. It never worked that way for me, that one night always became many years. So, now I let the waves of nostalgia of wanting to be young and high pass through me and then soberly move on.

yes, I can relate to that. I wish many times I could shake off a wicked day of work with a drink or two, but alas. I am an alcoholic. Having past troubles with depression and anxiety and on meds, too. Drinking always makes psych troubles worsen. Have never had a relapse without a worsening of psychiatric difficulties, hand in glove.

But, I completely understand where you are coming from.... helen.
