Hi, I have been a heavy drinker for over thirty years daily (five or six vodka drinks nightly till I eat and go to bed). Over the last couple years I have tried to cut down several times. Each time I develop a frequent urination situation. Whenever I drink anything (water, soup, coffee, a beer), I have to urinate instantly and then, frequently until reaching some point. If I start using alcohol heavily again, it goes away. Or seems to.
I'm thinking that the heavy drinking is maybe masking a bladder or urinary problem.
Any opinions?
Can withdrawal cause it and it will go away eventually?
Currently drinking 2 beers a night for the past 5 days and feel really good except for the urination thing. And a couple nights of weird dreams.
Out of work and no health insurance but considering seeking a free health clinic in the Long Beach, California area.
Thanks

Sounds like a few organs have their wires crossed. Hope you can see someone about that soon.

When i was drinking (been sober 12 years) I drank a case of beer, and half of fifth of rum a day, at the end i was not eating, never had a hangover, cause all i did was drink, it sound like your kidneys, might need some checking into, please get a check up,and if you can see your way, there are other beverages, besides, your usual, no mean to offend here.

Bladder problem has gone away, no more crazy dreams and I sleep straight thru the nite.
Probably not out of the woods yet, though. But,I expected things to go a lot rougher because I appreciate how much of an effect alcohol has on your body. I remember when I first started drinking in my early teens, how one beer was enough to blow me away. That tells me how potent alcohol can be. And now, one beer just whets my appetite.
Curious,if someone quits drinking and has a beer after about a year, does it hit you that hard?

my 20 yr old cousin just told me that she had one beer last weekend after not drinking anything since February and SHE said it completely looped her...
Don't know if that's usual, but thought I'd mention it in light of your question...
