After 15 years of binge-drinking (couldn't stay sober long enough for anti-depressants to work) my pdoc finally prescribed klonipin. He said it was to take the anxiety off and should actually stop me from having alcohol cravings. I've been taking it a week, and all I feel is slow and dopey - and still having alcohol cravings. I read klonipin is addictive and difficult to get off of if you decide to quit taking it. Should my pdoc have given me this? Will it really stop alchol cravings or is my pdoc full of baloney? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
