Annual drug deaths: tobacco: 395,000, alcohol: 125,000, 'legal' drugs: 38,000, illegal drug overdoses: 5,200, marijuana: 0. Considering government subsidies of tobacco, just what is our government protecting us from in the drug war?

Hi Phil

I do think cannabis is more dangerous than those figures suggest. There must be people with cancers of the lung or face/tongue/larynx(larynx?) that result from smoking it. I knew one who perhaps had such.

The Dutch Minister of Health said something like 'we prefer not to treat our own citizens as enemies' a few years ago.
It was such a relief to hear wisdom from the authorities, and he was talking about heroin too.

Culture wars (and the other sort): why is it that people can't give them up?
