It is known that Effexor can raise blood pressure, especially at higher doses. I read a summary of a study which said this did not happen in people who were already hypertensive. But it did not explain whether they were including only people who did not have their hypertension under control, or whether this finding also applied to "baseline" hypertensives who had lowered their BP through hypertension meds.
So, what is the experience of any hypertensive folks out there taking Effexor XR? What was your "before-Effexor" and "after-using-Effexor" BP? And was the "before" including hypertensive med usage or not?
This is the end of the thread.
