please help with the abbreviations used in posts

Posted by geejay on January 25, 2001, at 13:23:46

I am new to this bulletin board and am trying to educate myself about my condition (probably chronic depression) and treatment options by reading past posts. I have been able to figure out some of the more common abbreviations used, but not all. Could one of the regulars give me a short list of the more common abbr. and their meanings? Thanks.

Scott -

ROFLMAIO...

IMNSHO, you're OOC! Outstanding list!

AFAIK - FWIW - this is the most thorough such list I've ever come across.

IOW, you significantly improved my QOL.

TIA for any further contributions you may have down the road (additions to this particular list, or otherwise)... BTW, KIT... michael

(BTW - my favorite one..."CRS" Hope I can remember it, since it'd be so useful)

> FYI RE: the definition for ADHD...it states "formerly known as ADD". Actually that's not correct. ADHD and ADD are two different but related disorders. My sister is diagnosed (dx'ed) with ADD because she does not have the hyperactivity component. I also work at a school for special needs children...we have many students with ADHD (among other things) So ADHD is not a replacement for ADD...it is a more specific dx. Not trying to be a know-it-all...just trying to clarify :)
