zombified friend

Posted by sar on September 24, 2001, at 0:35:32

i recently befriended a girl who is on geodon, klonopin, and wellbutrin. before this, she was on haldol rather than wellbutrin (or geodon)? anyway, she seems sharp but *so* slowed down, she is the most zombified person i've ever seen. she has many diagnoses, the most predominant PTSD. she's real cool & i want to hang with her, the robotic part of her personality just really throws me off.

any info out there?

No real info here, only to question what DOSES of these meds this new friend of yours is on - perhaps they need adjustment down (or up)? I take 1mg/night of Klonopin (have been for years) and that one is NOT a numbing one for me, at least not at that dose. My pdoc has instructed me to go up a bit if I start feeling real anxious, which I've done, and then it made me drowsy, but that would wear off after a few hours and still, no numbness.

I can't offer any experience for Geodon, but Wellbutrin made me too agitated and restless.

Again, a possible *answer* to why this girl is so numbed could be in the doses of what she's taking, or possibly it's not quite the right combo for her. I'm sure others out there can shed more light on this for you. Good luck; I hope your friendship with her works out.

I hope you support your new friend and try not to be too judgemental. You may not be aware of how severe her emotional problems really are. I would prefer "robotic" to psychotic or suicidal.
