geodon and sweating

Posted by delna on August 30, 2002, at 9:18:28

Hi all
I have just been prescribed geodon for bipolar disorder as my depression has some psychotic features. I have also just started venlafaxine 150mg and sweat a lot from it. Has anyone had any experience of increased or decreased sweating from geodon. Some literature seems to suggest that it interferes with sweating and hence decreases it.
Thnks so much

I've heard people report this effect from Effexor alone. Anyway, since Geodon is somewhat serotonergic, this may be causing a problem when combined with Effexor. Just a thought... Maybe suggest this to your pdoc and talk about reducing the dose of one or the other? Others here may know more about this type of thing, but this is what my pdoc suggested to me when I was having similar problems combining it with Nardil.
