feelings are coming back

Posted by rod on September 1, 2002, at 10:35:59

It can feel so good to be sad!
I never believed this, but it is just as my people from my local support group told me (wanted to make my believe). Depression is finally lifting and my feelings are coming back. First "it got worse", but after a few days this sadness became so real, so intense and so overwhelming. But I did welcome this feeling and accepted it, and now it seems everything turns out good. My meds I found dont brighten my mood (maybe at the beginning), they just let them go again, feel free at last.

wish you all the best!!

bye
rod

PS: the right meds aure out there! dont give up! for me it took to try 9 of them.

Hi Rod,

Glad to hear you are feeling better. What meds are you taking?

Best wishes,
Kari.

Hello Kari!

I am not sure if it makes sense to post which meds I take, but if you really want

- 150 mg Effexor
- 75 mg Amitriptyline (Elavil & Co)
- Vit B combo
- Omega 3

This is the first time ever I WANT to go off Amitriptyline, because it sure was the lesser of two evils (depression vs Amitrip. sideeffects).
Effexor seems to really help me, but it aint a wonderdrug and does not prevent that I have some bad days. And without regular sport exercises and healthy food (no coffee and alcohol) I would not do so well. I am really glad my physical condition got better with Effexor, and made it possible to do some exercises again.(gained a lot of weight on Amitrip.)
At the moment I take immediate release talbets, but my doctor wants me to put on ER (XR in america I think).

Best wishes,
Rod

Sounds good. There are no wonder drugs but it is good that you found the right combination of meds and strategies to begin getting back on track.

Take care,
Kari.
