Is there anyone here that is on an MAOI (non-selective, irreversable) in additional to an amphetamine or other psychostimulant? (And yes, I know the combination is "officially" contraindicated.)
I ask this because I've been taking 30 mg of Dexedrine/day for nearly 8 years for ADD, and plan to begin Parnate soon. The psychiastrist I'm seeing that prescribes the Dexedrine does not touch MAOIs, so I am in the process of setting up a consultation with a psychopharmacologist that does.
Obviously, the key to avoiding any potentially dangerous interactions is to carefully titrate the amphetamine dosage upward, starting with "micro" dosages. I'm hoping that Parnate will be able to dramatically lower my daily Dexedrine dosage. I'm 25-years-old and (physically) in excellent shape with no preexisting cardiovascular or other health problems.

I've been taking Dextrostat (30 mg daily) and 10 mg of selegline for the past year with no problem. My doc has me keep Procardia with me just in case of a hypertensive crisis, but so faR no problem.
The combination of a MAOI and stimulant is a "last resort", but it works wonders for me. If you have any heart or bp problems, you probably shouldn't try it. Anyway, follow up frequently with your doctor and I hope you have the same success that I have experienced.

With parnate you would be activated out of your mind. Parnate metabolizes into amphetamine and methamphetamine. Maybe Parnate alone would take the place of your ADD med.

The PDR is slightly countradictive - but in general MAOI + stimulant (nardil + ritalin, nardil + dexroamphetamine, nardil + provigil) - are not contrindicated but rather are suggested to "combine with caution" or "combine with exreme caution" etc.
Occasionally these are combined - sometimes to very good effect. Probably best if lower dose nardil (for example as the maoi) - and a very low dose stimulant.
I doubt most would be best off to pursue this and most Dr's will avoid it - but I believe there are cases where it can be effective - are some case reports - I have a bit of experience there myself - mostly prn though I did take low provigil with low nardil for 1 year with good results.

Does the selegiline enhance the effects of the dextrostat? To what extent? It seems an interesting combination and I'd like to know why it was prescribed and how you are doing on the combination.
