It's a illness a psychologist student gets in their senior year, I think.

Daizy,

I'm by no means an expert, but I think psychosis just refers to a psychotic state which can be brought on by a lot of different mental illnesses. Have you seen a psychiatrist? That would be the best bet to find out what is going on with you. From there, he/she would know how to treat what you are going through the best.

Hope this helps,

Krysti

I think it can be a side effect of depression. I agree with Krysti it can manifest in alot of ways. Delusions, hallucinations, out of touch with reality. They usually treat it with antipsychotics.

It just means a psychotic state, that's all. Yup, antipsychotics will work, but you're probably just curious over reading a side-effect, eh? Well, psychosis as a side-effect is rare for any med, and will remain rare unless the patient does something like add painkillers, take high doses, alcohol, sleep deprivation, and a whole cocktail of scary things like that to push the limits. Well, at least I know what the "paranoia" side-effect means on the hydrocodone side-effect listing... geez, never mix alcohol and pot with that stuff. Voices bad.

> Thank you everyone! Psychosis NO, PARANOIA Yes.

Been there with the cocktail of drugs, AD's and alcohol in the system, that always makes for an eventful night.

Takes time, lots. Often is an over reaction to something, like a bad time for example. Can produce halucinations, erational thinking, etc. It made me sit in my room and stay away from people. Untill I got on medications, which I unfortuanatly still take. Curently I am trying to get off them, atleast I was untill my performance went down. Anyways. If you have more questions let me know.
