Posted by Neo on December 14, 2002, at 6:46:22

I tryed all SSRI, SNRI, Tca, benzos and AD, and my situation got worse: sleeping all day!
What i need for to be active and focused?
Cocaine (lol)?
Stimulants?
Amphetamine?
Please any help!!!

If you havn't tried Wellbutrin, this
might be the med for you.

Stay away from Coke and Meth - they'll
help all right, for the first few weeks
then you'll be even more screwed over.

For suppliments you could try chromium,
ginkgo, ginisng etc.

Good Luck

Provigil (modafinil) might be a good med to try. It's marketed primarily for narcolepsy, but is being used increasingly for various other conditions. I found it stimulating without causing anxiety, and although it wasn't great for my ADD (not enough help with concentration), it certainly gave me a lift. I take Adderall (an amphetamine mix) now, but my psychiatrist says that Provigil can be very helpful for certain individuals, and considers it very safe.

Provigil is not tightly controlled the way "conventional" stimulants are, so it should be fairly easy to get a prescription, plus the company that makes it hands out lots of free samples to doctors and psychiatrists.

Wellbutrin might also be worth a try, especially if you don't have anxiety problems. It can be very stimulating and is a good antidepressant for some. For me, it caused too much anxiety and some odd side effects, but some people do very well with it.

Wellabutrin got me outta bed and into gear, and got me really focused at work.
It gave me energy too.

I started off slow---lowest dose of course.

Good luck , let us know what happens.

Mirapex seems to help me be active and focused. I've only been on it for a couple of weeks but I'm already impressed with the results. Pemoline works somewhat for me also.
