I started taking Wellbutrin XR 300mg about 10 days ago. First week was great. Minimal side effects, a little jittery, but overall I feel better than I have in years. About a week into it my ears started to ring. It has gotten progressively worse over the past three or four days and now I can hear it over people talking and it is hell to get to sleep. Can anyone comment on whether the ringing will stop if I stay on the meds? Will I have to cut the dosage or stop treatment for it to subside? Thanks.

Oh, that has to be annoying! I am on WB SR, but taking a similar dose (150mg morning/150mg night).
I never had that side effect, but my side effects in general actually took up to 6 weeks to disappear. I've heard of a lot of other people who reduce the dose for a while and ease their way back up and it helps with side effects.
And perhaps using WB SR like I am, in two doses, might help. I dunno. But I'm wishing you luck. In general, WB has been great for me.

My Dr. added Wellbutrin XL to my Lexapro on 11/5 and as of today, the ringing/whistling is still there, but then it's only been 3 weeks so I'm hoping it subsides soon.

I'm also taking Wellbutrin XL and have been for over two months. I vaguely remember the ringing in my ears, but most to all of my side effects stopped after a week. I wish you well :)
