From what I hear it is easier than some.

I would try a combination of 5-htp, tyrosine,
b6,b12 folic acid, and perhaps cyproheptadine for sleep (an antihistamine that blocks 5-h2a/c similar to remeron.

Question about abilify

Correct me if I'm wrong, but..

Wouldn't the strong antagonism of DA3 receptors cause profound anhedonia??

Thanks,

remeron blocks 5-HT3 receptors.

oops, you were asking about abilify. Abilify is a partial agonist at D2 receptors, not a full antagonist at d3 as far as i know.

It's not easy but you can do it hun. After a serious suicide attempt I was forced to come of it cold turkey (30mg for six months). I had terrible flu like symptoms and very bad anxiety with a headache and fizzy feeling in my brain for a few days but it went away quickly. It's not easy but it doesen't last long.

Maybe taper off slowly, unlike me...

Good luck.

I don't recall how slowly I did it, but not very. Maybe over the course of a week...I'd have to check. I had zero problems stopping it. YMMV of course.

"Your mileage may vary". That is, you might have a different experience than I did.

I am also interested in this as I went through hell getting off paxil and ended up worse off than before I ever went on meds!

Has anyone else had problems getting off this drug.

Crazy chick, make sure you get help from your doctor. Are you going to replace it with anything?

Go slowly is probably the best advice any of us can give. I know I had to use liquid paxil to do the final titration. anyone know if remeron comes in a liquid?

Of course you can! :)

I know exactly how you feel, though. I haven't been on remeron long (eight weeks) and I'm trying to decide if I should stay with it and add something to it, or try a tricyclic.

If I wasn't still having such problems with blood sugar it would be a no brainer. However, I feel really depressed and weepy every morning (it does pass though)and when I tried to bump up to 30mg I felt stoned out of my gourd. I'm just bummed. I just want something to work.
