Anybody have LONGTERM success with lamictal?

Posted by becksA on December 1, 2004, at 11:25:37

I've read that lamictal helps, until you have to increase the dosage....and this cycle keeps repeating itself basically until the dose becomes too high, so you have to go off it completely. I've been on it now for about 3 weeks, and it is starting to help, but I've been discouraged reading about stories like this, where you just basically keep upping the dose when it stops working until its so high that you have to stop it alltogether.

Is there anybody that has found a good dose for them that has worked for the long-term? SSRI's, AD's have never worked for me at all, so this is kind of a last resort for me. (BPII).
Thanks.

Yes me. 4 years on Lamictal and still on it. I'm on 200 mg. I can say it is a savior. I have to take Effexor with it because Lamotrigine does nothing for my anxiety.

I have been on 600mgs for a 3 years or so. Lamictal does nothing for my depression or anxiety. I take it for seizure control. Now, I'm thinking I would do better on a lower dose..? But at a lower dose, I have breakthrough seizures..?
