EMSAM in the UK?

Posted by jclint on December 4, 2004, at 9:37:04

Hi guys. I was wondering if someone with a little knowledge of the drug admin system could help me out.

As far as we know, EMSAM is good to go, right? To be released early next year with any luck. However is this just for the US? Or some sort of global approval? I'm eager to try this one out and would hate to think that I wont be able to get it.

John :)

Hi!

I tried to find out whether/when Emsam would be available in the UK but I wasn't able to find any information.

Me too. Can't seem to find any information about it being approved outside of the US. Which sucks.

We get a new MAOI with no dietary restrictions (Moclobemide) that isn't very effective while the US gets a new MAOI without restrictions (Emsam) that seems to be very effective!

Sigh. Well I think I'm going to try out the nardil with a view to trialing Emsam ASAP, hopefully will be next year some time (???).

Hi,

Good luck with Nardil. Keep us all updated!

We do have Zelapar in England- a formulation of selegiline which is absorbed through the lining of the mouth.

Ed.
