wellbutrin...maybe an obvious answer???

Posted by rainbowbrite on May 23, 2005, at 23:24:28

Am i potentially making wellbutrin ineffective because of stopping and starting it several times?

And can these stopping and startings be messing up my mood? Drugs stay in us for awhile, so 5 days off of wellbutrin shouldn't really affect mood, should it?

Possibly. However, there wouldn't be much reward in being the guinea pig that proved your hypothesis to be correct. Many people have had this happen to them with SSRIs.

Some people can "feel" when they have missed even one dose of Wellbutrin.

Once in your blood stream, Wellbutrin disappears rather quickly. It should be almost completely gone within 5 days.

Why do you want to skip days?

Hi Scott

Is wellbutrin considered an ssri? Oh yeah, Im not keen on being a guinea pig, but I may be making myself one inadvertantly.

I suspect I can as well, but I wasnt sure. If I miss 2 days my mood is off.

Its not that I want to miss them its that I did miss them. I have been trying to go off the drug and it is seeming to be an impossibility. So I go off and then anywhere between 5 days to 3 or so weeks I have gone back on b/c I get really down. So i am noticing it a little now but I have been back on it for several days now.
I started to worry about it becoming ineffective.

im just trying to figure out the best approach for getting off it.
Although Im slowly beginning to feel that I may really need it.

Any ideas on getting off it?

Thanks
rain
