I took another 40mg, now up to 120mg. I decided that nausea was a pleasant alternative to OCD. Don't worry, I won't take anymore, I promise.

Regards,
Ed.

(((Ed)))

Please be careful, Ed. I care about you too much, and don't want to see you get sick or have an extremely unpleasant reaction to too much Celexa. I am sorry that your OCD is getting bad again, and my heart goes out to you. I hope that the Celexa starts to kick in soon, and that you will start feeling better. It seems many of us are having a tough time right now :-( I am hoping all of us have some measure of relief soon, very soon.

My thoughts are with you, Ed. Take very, very good care.

Hi T,

Thank you for your kind email :-)

>I care about you too much, and don't want to see you get sick or have an extremely unpleasant reaction to too much Celexa.

I haven't had too many side effects. I feel a bit sweaty. I'm going to return to 60mg tomorrow- the dose I was on before.

Lots of love,
Ed.

Ok, I can stop worrying now. Hey, I was thinking, maybe you should take up smoking, short term, so you can get some Wellbutrin! A friend of mine is on a combo of Celexa and Wellbutrin and seems to be doing quite well. So, you could just buy a pack of smokes, not really smoke them, but just hold a cig or two, then go see the pdoc smelling like cigs, fake a smoker's hack, and say you want to quit smoking and need some Wellbutrin to do it. Then, when you have managed to quit smoking (nudge, nudge, wink, wink), you can tell the pdoc that Wellbutrin has done wonders for your depression as well, so you intend to stay on it (that is if it works).

I think I have got it all figured out.

I may be a quiet, shy type at times, but I can be a crafty one, when the need arises LOL. If worse comes to worse, you can apply to unis here in Canada, and you can board at my place while you finish school, and at the same time get to see a more progressive pdoc.

Ed be careful, 80mgs seems like a big starting dose
Was that the dose you needed to get a response the last time you were on it?

I remeber Celexa had fairly unpleasant side effects for me at 20mgs!

It actually very easy to order Wellbutrin online if your in the UK.

Don't mean to sound rude, but weren't you on only 60mg when you decided to quit ?

Take it slow. Remember that in some cases AD's can work better (pharmachologically) at lower doses.

Try not to jump at any one treatment at 1000 miles an hour or you'll turn on it and then want to take nothing again. (like me!!!)

Ed, What in the World? You seemed just fine when I last talked to you and you said your tests will be over on the 6th. You really did sound fine. I know I am also having a hard time. Can't sleep even with the valium. What happened to the fish oil? And we're still having problems with the computer. Just returned from having it repaired. Hope this old one will take this message. Hi T!

Thank you, you are so sweet and kind!

There aren't many treatments for OCD apart from SSRIs. I was going to try Parnate for depression but not anymore........my OCD is back!

Hi Tom,

I'm ok :-) I feel a bit sick though LOL!

>Was that the dose you needed to get a response the last time you were on it?

No, I used to take 60mg. I'm gonna continue taking 60mg from now on. I was having some bad OCD symptoms yesterday and I had an urge to take more because I needed a distraction from my OCD. Please don't worry, I'm not suicidal or anything like that. I did end up taking 200mg though! Please don't shout at me- I know it was dumb. I'll return to the proper dose when the side effects have worn off :-)

Kind regards,
Ed.

Hi Link,

>Don't mean to sound rude, but weren't you on only 60mg when you decided to quit?

Yes, I'm gonna return to 60mg :-) I don't know why I took so much really. I've never taken a 'proper' overdose of anything but I often take more than I'm supposed to when things are not going well.

Kind regards,
Ed.

PS. It's 9 hours since I took my last dose. I feel a bit sick and jittery but not too bad.

200mg ?? WOW

SSRI's generally don't work on an as needed basis for OCD. There are some other, faster acting, things you can do for sudden attacks of obsessiveness.

I hope I am not crossing the line in saying that it sounds to me that you are stressed about exams and what you really need a little bit of a benzodiazapine.

Hi Link,

>200mg ?? WOW

Yep.

>SSRI's generally don't work on an as needed basis for OCD.

I know! It was dumb :-S I don't know why I did it really. I often take more than I'm supposed to when I get upset. It *doesn't* help but I do it anyway...........

>I hope I am not crossing the line..........

Absolutely not :-)

>.........in saying that it sounds to me that you are stressed about exams and what you really need a little bit of a benzodiazapine.

You're right, I will get some Valium off my mother.

Kind regards,
Ed.

Hi sweetie :-)

Have you tried all the SSRIs? The reason I ask is because I remember Celexa being the weakest of all the ones I tried.

Maybe you can get some caffeine tablets to help with the drowsiness?

Ed, I knew it was the exams. Last one tomorrow. Then you can hopefully relax. You must have been a bad influence on me because I took 20mg of valium last night because I have been waking up so early. I did sleep better. Now I'll be short one pill. Fondly, PJ O

Hi Maxi,

I've tried citalopram (up to 60mg), fluoxetine 20mg and paroxetine (up to 60mg). I think I might try fluoxetine at a higher dose or possibly sertraline.

Hi Ed!

Have you tried Luvox (is that what fluoxetine is, or is that Prozac?). I was under the impression that Luvox was good for OCD, and that the sexual side effects were not as bad as with other SSRIs.

BTW, have you written your LAST exam yet? If so, YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! If not, good luck!!

Hi Tamara!

Fluoxetine = Prozac
Fluvoxamine = Luvox, Faverin

I've never tried Luvox, it has a reputation for being one of the most sedating SSRIs. I think I'm going to continue Celexa for a while........I might try Zoloft though.

>BTW, have you written your LAST exam yet?

Yes, it's over! It actually went quite well. I've got six exams in August though :-(

Ed, You might want to try Luvox. It was the only AD I could take without any side effects. I started on 50mg, the next day another 50mg was added, up to 250mg. I kept waiting for the side effects but for some reason they didn't occurr. It really did help with OCD. Fondly, PJ O

I'm really concerned, and confused! I haven't been on here lately, and don't really know what has been going on. I trust you to take the correct medications, because we need YOU~! (seriously) No one is yelling at you, we wouldn't do that. We respect you. Remember, we're all here together, looking for the same thing. You have always given it to me, as well as the others.
