Trazadone

Posted by keeppluggin on June 7, 2005, at 15:01:42

I have insomnia and was prescribed Trazadone to sleep (had been taking .5 mg of ativan). It had the reverse reaction and kept me up all night. Has anyone else out there experienced this?

I took Trazadone for a while and it put me to sleep but I felt like a zombie the next day. Ambien works really fast but for me only 3 hours. I take Lunesta now but it takes alot longer.
Good luck,
Vivi

I had the same reaction. It made it harder to sleep. Sorry I don't have any answers, just know you're not alone.

after my second sucide attempt I was in the local psych ward where they want every one to try and have healthy sleep patterns (which I don't have) and after the regular round of sleeping meds didn't put me out, they gave me Trazadone, which made me zippy and wired. It didn't help at all. I'm taking Seroquel 100mg at night and it helps me a good deal of the time get better sleep. This is my first post so I don't know if you have other issues along side the insomnia, it helps me with my frantic rapid thoughts and to be generally calmer and more capable of falling asleep than anything else I've tried.
