Neurofeedback for anxiety? Has anyone tried this?

Posted by Katgirl on November 21, 2009, at 10:47:07

I am thinking about trying this for my anxiety but don't want to throw a lot of money away if it is a bunch of hogwash! Has anyone tried this or have any information about it?

No, there is an actual doctor who is doing this at a clinic in my home city. They are claiming to help with ADD and anxiety, not clinical depression etc. They sent me a link about research about it, but I was wondering if anyone had actually tried it.

I have heard a lot of good things about neurofeedback. I think it is worth a try. I'm sure going to try it out, I should have already.

Neurofeedback DOES WORK! My mother has been studying it for years. She now has her own practice and her clients are really receiving help and notice the difference. She has helped drug addicts, people with ADD, depression and eating disorders;like myself...I would give it a go! :)

i thought you ment a med, not some crank who has never be ill, telling you how to get well for a couple of hundred dollars. it no different than ctb an that free in england, an total grap.your brain is like a engine in your car. if its knacked you need a new one.well you carnt get a new one so you tick over. topping up with meds just to keep running, the hand book is usless in engine faliure

So, it sounds like you have tried this? Is your mom a doctor, or what kind of training did she have? How soon did you see results? I had been emailing with the clinic and getting satisfactory responses UNTIL I asked if they had any "satisified customers" I could speak to about their experiences and since then I haven't heard a peep. Makes me a little suspicious. (About this particular clinic, not about neurofeedback as a whole).

Anyway, any information you have about your own experience with this would be appreciated.
