Seems that the adolescents receiving the Pfizer vaccine some are developing myocarditis which is rare in this age group. Why do you feel this is happening and why most of the cases in the state of Connecticut. Bad batch of vaccines or the vaccine itself? Thanks Phillipa

I read it may be linked to working out too early after the vaccine. Generally speaking, younger people work out more than older people.

it could be that they are encouraging people to return to the doctor if they experience any side effects and people have really really good health insurance so think it is better to be safe than sorry.
whereas other people are told that it is perfectly normal to run a bit of a fever etc after having a vaccination so rest up and drink water etc.
then you don't want people to feel bad like they are over-reacting (because it could have been something, you know??) so they call it 'myocarditis'. which is inflammation surrounding the heart. why think it is inflammation surrounding the heart? i am not sure.
you want there to be an inflammation response after vaccination. that's the body making antibodies which will protect you from the virus.
it's just scary to have chest pains and people worry about having a heart attack which can make the pains worse from anxiety...
would be my guess.
unless teenagers are actually dying of heart attacks...

Alex this is real just google Myocarditis with the Pfizer vaccine in teens. Since most cases are in Connecticut I have to wonder if they got a bad batch of vaccines? Phillipa

I know it is real. Inflammation after vaccination is a sign that the vaccination is working as it should be. It is prompting or provoking an immune response in people, the way it is supposed to.
People in Connecticut are *complaining to their doctors* about inflammation responses they are having post-vaccination and the doctors are responding to those complaints by running a bunch of tests and focusing on the cardiac or heart component of the immune response and are writing up those sympoms.
My guess would be there is a particular doctor / group of doctors in conneticut. As teh common cause / origin. Rather than a batch of vaccines.
A psychosomatic component in the *interpretation* of symptoms.
I understand that it is young males who are complaining of chest pains.
I have only had one influenza vaccination in my lifetime. I was very surprised to discover that I was laid up for a couple days with (what felt to me) to be influenza symptoms. Fatigue. Aches. Pains. I felt awful.
I would imagine that some of the young fit and healthy guys are freaking out (understandably) about how they feel when they get the vaccine because they've never felt so awful before.

I freaked out because I stayed in bed for a few days after the vaccine and then squatted like I did before the vaccine. My heart was racing like crazy. I hear that is normal

And I'm saying "you" generally. I just see too much focus on stuff that doctors aren't worried about.
There are a lot of people pushing any little issue to support the narrative that protecting yourself by getting vaccinated is the wrong choice.
Ugh, I just read these stories from people who have had it and are suffering.....it doesn't get better for them - these "longhaulers".
I can't help that I care that people don't get caught up in messaging that's coming from a small group of people.....for ratings or money or whatever.
Sorry if you're concerned - it's just a general rant from scrolling through COVID topics on twitter.

I know two people that are against getting the vaccine and I can tell you they are not having an easy time. They are too distrusting to get it.

I had suggested that anything related to vaccines be in another category other than medications because it doesnt really have anything to do with psychiatric medications. You got to agree with me on that.
just my opinion as I am always looking for new meds or reading of others advice and suggestions. I have zero interest right now in vaccines other than getting both and not experiencing any side effects.

Big deal. Every cold carries more risk of Myocarditis if I am not mistaken. Just don't work out for several days after the vaccine/cold.
