Our 21 yr. old son carries a Dx of Asperger's Syndrome with comorbid obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, anxiety, and low level suspicion/hostility/anger (but NO hallucinations). He is currently taking daily: 200 mg sertaline, 900 mg lithium, 5 mg olanzapine, 8 mg perphenazine, and 1 mg benztropine. Lately, he's shown more anger/suspiciousness. When the olanzapine is increased, he shows MORE anger/suspiciousness. When the perphenazine is increased, his sweetness of temper returns but he looks "blunted" and "drugged". Would Risperdal be a good choice to control the symptom cluster of suspicon/anger/hostility? We'd like to get him off of the perphenazine!!
