Response to Julie.

I tried Zyprexa. I tried it exactly once. Never again! It felt like (what I imagine) a lobotomy would feel like. I became totally mindless. It was an effort to respond to people talking to me. I became so disinterested in the outside world that I basically -- went away. Rather hard to explain. I then fell into a sleep that lasted at least 14 hours, although I spent hours mindlessly -- well, really at this point, "groggily" because my mind was more or less back, laying there. Course, it solved the anxiety, mainly by putting me to sleep. Hardly what I was thinking when I took it.

But no one should use me as a measure -- since I've reacted badly to a huge variety of medications. My psychiatrist finally recommended I get a complete neurological exam. Whatever -- one more series of innane tests. I'm so tired all the time. I've been worn down by this illness that no one can seem to give a consistant diagnosis to, and no drugs seem to alleviate. It really bothers me, quite frankly, that there are no simple, consistant, accurate tests for neurochemistry, like there is, for example, if you want to get your thyroids checked (which I did) and they can tell you, "good" or "bad" for particular levels of, in this case, hormones I believe.

Anxiety NOS, Personality Disorder NOS, and Mood Disorder NOS. These are three of the diagnoses I've been given. Not only are there three different dianostic classes represented, no one seems to know which subclass I belong to in any one of them! NOS = "No One is Sure, but we gave you a diagnosis anyway so that you think we're doing our job" as far as I'm concerned.
