James here....

5 days then stop...if your friend is a paranoid schizophrenic he needs to be on meds for the rest of his life ! The problems he is experiencing are the common side effect of Haldol namely Trative Dyskinisia and others. The shot of benadryl (actually you can just take it in pill form, which is cheap and OTC) will counter this and is the common treatment for this problem. Most have to take benadryl or another med along with Haldol. He needs to be properly Dx'ed to make sure he is paranoid schizophrenic
and then an approprate med that hopefully does not cause these problems can be perscribed.
