selegiline and sleep

Posted by Chris A. on January 25, 1999, at 12:39:14

What is the current take on selegiline (Eldepryl) and sleep? On doses
between 25 - 50 mg. I became very phase delayed. Tapering
down to 15 mg. and using my light box early every morning has
helped to normalize my circadian rhythm. I've been back to bottom
feeding lately - hibernating, emotionally labile, feeling
worthless, incapable of functioning and having my suicidal plan
laid out, so we (my pDoc and I) have discussed increasing the dose.
I am bipolar II and have had repeated incidents of iatrogenic hypomania,
usually of the dysphoric variety induced by ADs (most notably Wellbutrin,
Prozac, Effexor and Parnate). Even Lamotrigine created problems.
It was my understanding that selegiline is less activating. Any wisdom?
