Bi-Polar

Posted by L. Ward on August 27, 1998, at 18:29:25

I am a 37 y/o female who has Bi-Polar Disorder I am on Social Security. I just moved from my hometown seems it is the best move for me beings my family contributes to my pressure No-one in my family accepts I am a manic depressiant less alone mental problems.I go to a neurologist for CHRONIC migraine headaches, those were diagnosed before my Bi-polar. I can never get my medicines adjusted right due to serious adverse reactions that occur for instance drop in blood pressure to flatline with SSRI/MAO inhibitors, Serzone had me at the hospital with partial paralysis and so on....All that seems to help me is Lithium forget Zoloft Prozac and the others we have been down the long road of the trying stages of medicine. The problem now is my Lithium level is at 4 and the doctors will not up the mg. to help me over the hump, we have tried steroids Medrol dose pack for the headaches but ooops the high attacks me and i tear the walls down. I use Loracet Plus for pain with phenegan for vomitting or Stadol when the headaches are seeing no end. The hospital knows me on a first name basis no longer do I wait to get in the E.R. Dept. they see me fast.We have tried numerous combinations of medicines for the Bi-Polar but none work, without problems. The headaches are getting worse I am tired of the vicious cycle. I am now having problems making thoughts slow down and SHAKING off and on through the day. Please someone help guide me.
