Stroke dementia and xyprexa/remeron

Posted by Vivian on March 29, 1999, at 15:16:23

My mother suffered a stroke which has resulted in aphasia and reduced
cognitive abilities. Dr. treating her with xyprexa which caused slurred speech
and drooling. Now trying remeron but she is tired, achy
and not as coherent as when she is not on any drugs. Using drugs to control the mood
swings which cause her to yell at nursing staff and argue about taking her
medications. Risperadal worked for awhile, but didn't control the outbursts.
We're in a quandry as 2 caregivers have quit and now the home will not keep her unless she settles down.
Any suggestions?
