Perhaps you're the same Dave from above who asked about Prozac and imipramine. If so you'll see my response about how many SSRI's (celexa also being in this class) lead to an increased blood concentration of tricyclics -- effectively meaning that you may need lower, even much lower, doses. I'm not sure how much celexa does this in comparison to the other SSRIs, but this information is probably floating in cyberspace somewhere. By the way, I believe that Elavil is the brand form of amitryptaline (probably spelled incorrectly)--It's a quite sedating tricyclic with mixed serotonin/norepinephrine effects, a bit like imipramine (but far more sedating apparently).
