> My psychiatrist says in middle age depression often
expresses itself as irritablility or anger. That
is certainly my case. Since being on SSRIs including
Paxil, Zoloft and Effexor, I no longer yell at my
children or other people's. I used to spend so much
energy trying to keep a lid on my anger that I didn't
accomplish much else. All of the medications
have been like a key in a lock for me: the perfect
fit for my symptoms. I've switched from one to
another to juggle the side effects. The meds calm
rage and so I've got all this energy to do other
things. It's great. With Effexor, I have a libido
again, but not enough strength and stamina to run
as far as I used to. Hope you find something that
works well for you. You are not a mean person...
(if you were you wouldn't be concerned about it)
something is out of balance.
