I've just started Naltrexone augmentation of Paxil. My psychiatrist was quite encouraged about this strategy when I showed him all the info from this site on it. Neither one of us though had any sense of how Lamactil would either interfere with or augment the strategy, so after just a week on Lamactil 25mg we temporarily have dropped it to better assess how Paxil/Naltrexone does. Paxil was the best of all the SSRIs for me, I was on it for a year at one time, have tried them all. So I know what to expect from it, and should be able to tell how Naltrexone reacts with it. I'm curious though if anyone knows how Lamactil or any other mood stabilizer might either upset the synergy of Naltrexone and SSRI or augment it or have no effect. In the patent for this augmentation, anticonvulsants are mentioned, but I couldn't understand what it implied. Any help on this subject? Thank you much. JohnL.
P.S. Wayne: I hope this works! I am my psychiatrist's guinea pig on this one, and he says he has other difficult patients he is tempted to try it on, especially if it proves promising with me. Any input on SSRI+Naltrexone+Lamactil?
