Dexedrine (taking the plunge)

I decided to give Dexedrine a try because I've been having problems focusing and have quite a bit of work to do that requires me to focus. (I don't have ADD, as far as I know; this is a recent thing and hopefully will be short-lived.) I'm starting out at 5mg. It's immediate-release tablets, not the "spansules."
Does anyone have any comments on Dexedrine vs. other stimulants? I'm a little bit nervous because Ritalin made me "freak out."
