> Does anyone know an open minded psychiatrist in the houston area? I need some one open minded and willing to try different things. I've been on most combinations, ritalin worked once but the doc who gave it to me 10 yrs ago thought it would make me an addict and took me off it after a few weeks, I'd also like to try the new parkinsons drug that was mentioned here some place. thanks, George tubesrus@neosoft.com
Yes absolutely. Dr. Daniel Kaufman. Incredibly superb. He was my meds shrink for years. I have sent tons of people to him. Many therapists now use him. He is broad-minded, inclusive, incredibly knowledgeable, and atypical of most medical people, understands statistics accutely well, which is why he is such a good meds person. He forsaw many problems with drugs by observing his patients very carefull long before problems were well known. If I could get him to write, he would be well-known. But writing is the last thing he wants to do. So his reputation is word of mouth which only extends so far. If you e-mail me I will give you a better reference to him. He has saved many people's psychic lives (and some physical lives too.) He is just a superb meds man. The best I have ever seen, and I now live near DC and see one of the most well-known in the world and I don't think he is as good on stats as Kaufman. (The man I am seeing for meds now is Dr. Charles Olsen, if you want to look up his reputation to use as a reference for how reliable I am for referrals. Most people come to me when they need a medical person.)
