> Is there anyone out there who has taken an SSRi for an extended period of time and NOT gained any weight? Lots of us would love to hear from you. Be extended amount of time, I mean a year or more? Also, if anyone has quit using an SSRI, have they lost weight that they gained while on it?
YEs, I have taken SSRI's (various) over 2 years and have NOT gained weight. I do not drink, smoke or over indulge in anything really. I know what you all mean though cuz they can give cravings and all. Wellbutrin (75 mgs not SR) makes me almost unable to eat. Prozac I ate normal. Celexa was fine. Effexor made me ravenous two hours after a meal as well as remeron so I didn't take em. If I don't feel like exercising; I FORCE myself to. I think if you need medecation, but it just makes you sit on the couch maybe that's not so great. Synthroid really helped me to feel more awake (NOT wired)like a normal person. I like it. I am on zoloft now about 75 mgs. I HATE SSRI's, but I hate depression more so...That's some of my experience.
