MAOI and SAMe

I recently stopped taking Parnate after several unsuccessful months on the drug. After waiting about 10 days, I began to take SAMe and after one day, my depression almost completely lifted. I felt great for about four days, but then sunk back into depression.

Was Parnate still in my bloodstream when i began to take the SAMe? Might the abrupt end of SAMe's effectiveness be due to the fact that the Parnate had completely left my body?

Does anyone know about the safety/possibilities of combining MAOIs with SAMe?
