In reply to 2700 mg/day SJW 3.0% Hyperforin for Social Phobia?, posted by Roger on September 27, 1999, at 21:24:10

Hyperforin has recently been indicated to be the primary, but not only, component responsible for SJW's anti-depressant effects. I'm currently taking 1800 mg, but with no noticeable effect upon my SOCIAL PHOBIA. Perhaps there's a longer period to begin feeling a therapeutic effect (???)

As long as you aren't having intolerable side effects, keep going. A few weeks on any St Johnswort isn't nearly long enough though. Clinical studies also show that response is noticeably better at 6 weeks than 4, even more so at 8 weeks than 6, and more at 12 weeks than 8. It is slower than the prescription stuff, and progressive with time. Stay with it a few months and see how it goes.
