I first discovered Psychobabble a little more
than a year ago and became active on the board. I
remained active until folks started taking pot-shots
at others -- determining whether people were
"really sick" or not if they could function, folks
didn't know anything about meds, and so on.
Perhaps it was the nature of other folks' disease
that made them post so. In any event, personally,
being attacked on the board was not good for my
symptoms and disease, and I left it. It wasn't
"safe" for me here.Occasionally I would return to read up some on
new drugs, side effects, EMDR. When I started going
through crisis the end of July, I noticed that
things had matured here, conversations were civil
and supportive, rather than attacking. It felt
safe.Things were pretty bad for me in July and August,
and I began to gradually post again. The support I received,
especially from Racer, (bless you, Racer - I
printed out and still have what you posted to me
August)helped me get through it. I was thinking
of suicide again and making plans, though I never
mentioned THAT here (afraid someone would find me
and call in help). Psychobabble was an anchor for
me during that time.I have found that the sharing of information has
increased and the conversation has matured. It
has everything to do with people here, and I thank
you for creating a safe haven.jg
