There is a definite risk of a serotonin overload syndrome, which is dangerous and sometimes deadly. That being said, I have taken up to 50mg 5htp with 20mg prozac. I was having other side effects that the 5htp only made worse, so I discontinued. But at that dose it was safe for ME. Safe for YOU? Don't know. Easy does it. Experiment with caution. I started by emptying half the capsule contents onto toast with jam. I was too scared to try a whole capsule without feeling it out carefully first. Keep an eye out for early symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as diarrhea, cold sweating, fevers, chills, cramps, confusion, and more. Might want to read up on it in a search.
