Thanks Scott and S. Suggs for taking the time to answer my query! Since I've only been on Celexa for a month or so, and at only 20mg's, I owe it to myself to give it more of a try. Another month or so... It would be great if I experienced more of an antidepressant effect from this drug. However, if I don't, I'll invest the time and money into getting it (MAO's) via on-line, from out-of-country pharmacies or from a psychopharmacologist... My GP won't prescribe MAO's to me, as she's not comfortable with prescribing it. As, she'd want me to see a specialist because of the associated with risks/complications... My choice with a GP is for reasons involving cost and anti-depressant drugs largely being trial-n-error. I've been to psychopharmacologists a couple of times, though this route is often cost prohibitive for me in the long run...

The info regarding moclobemide and tyramine is helpful! It appears that there are no easy answers. It seems that in order for an MAO to be effective one has to take a dosage which may pose hypertensive risks.... I guess I'll never no unless I try... Celexa, is also hampering me sexually (desire-n-function). This can be depressing in itself... I realize that this negative side effect is the case with most psychiatric drugs. Thanks for your input! Dennis
