Hang in there for at least six weeks. I thought the same thing as you, but now that I have been on for a month and a half, I can tell a difference. Best of luck and feel welcome to email me if you have other questions!

>Crystal - Celexa is an SSRI antidepressant like Paxil, Zoloft, Luvox & Prozac. These drugs (and most antidepressants) take 4 to 6 weeks to show full effect. In the first week or two the side effects are the worst, but lessen as your body adjusts to the drug. Celexa or citalopram (it's generic drug name) is the most selective serotonin, a neurotransmitter that lacking in most people with depression. Thus, it is thought to have fewer side effects than the rest. Keep on taking it for at least another 3 to 5 weeks and give it a chance to exert it's full effect. Good luck. - Cam W.
