> I'm desperate. I was happy with my current doc for all but the last year out of seven. He has changed by being non-responsive. I was not a person who called a lot---only when I really needed him, about 4 incidences in 7 years, 3 of which have been in the last year. He used to listen, but has now become a 'production line' doc. I'm not imagining things, my therapist stopped referring people to him, but unfortunately my therapist doesn't know of anyone better than my current doc. Sad, huh?

> Anyway, the doc on Dr. Goldberg's page has retired and all the 'services' have very little info on psychiatrists. In fact, 1800doctors, only had 2 for all of Chicago! The Illinois Psychiatric Association only has lists of names and locations. Not much help there.

Sorry about my previous incomplete post!If you can get in to see her, Dr. Maria Caserta at the U. of Chicago (ask Dr. Bob for her e mail address there)is wonderful. Don't know if she is seeing new patients. She is a wonderful psychopharmacologist so you'd also see someone else for talk therapy.
Dr. Valerie Raskin in Oak Park is superb and is at MacNeal Health Services - also a psychopharmacologist with referals for talk therapists. Written a brilliant book entitled ? - it's on Amazon.com if you do an author search for it. Very treatment sensitive to women.
Dr. Fred Miller, head of Psychaitry at Evanston Hospital is a well liked in Chicago and may not be taking new patients but a referal to him might help. He also has referals for talk therapists if you were so lucky as to see him.
Let me know if I can help further!
