Defiance problems from Effexor XR

Posted by Lee on January 25, 2000, at 7:28:36

My 11 year old son started taking Effexor XR 75mg.
2 months ago. It's worked well on his depression but his ADD is way worse, to the point of overt defiance and belligerence which has never been a problem before. He's always been an honor roll student, now we're looking at c's and d's. My question is- is this a common symptom of effexor? Also, our Doc says it takes a while to build up and help with the ADD. I'm wondering how long?!!! We've been on this quest for help going on 3 years,w/2 different Docs. We've tried celexa, luvox, zoloft, Adderall, ritalin, and dexadrine all in various combinations.
ANY SUGGESTIONS OR COMMMENTS? Thanks-Lee
