Is that why your pdoc wants to add depakote? Usually if you show signs of hypomania or mania psychs add a mood stabilizer to an AD (prozac) which can be a pretty energizing SSRI. Depakote is fine if your blood levels are kept at the lower end of the therapeutic range (50-100), a lot of people experience nausea initially, weight gain, hair loss all kinds of negative side effects. The positive is it really does work in stopping and preventing manic episodes (I can attest to that), however it had a depressing effect on me- particularly at the levels needed. But next to lithium it is the gold standard in treating bipolar disorder. I wish you the best of luck. P.S. If this is for something other than bipolar- like augmenting your AD or lessening anxiety symptoms there are better ways.
