I am also trying to use some salmon oil - EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid), but have not tolerated the dose very well. I also find good sleep hygiene essential to keeping my mood in check. My bipolar gets so mixed that I start feeling like a checker board sometimes. I have been through multiple stabilizers - (lithium, Depakote, Tegretol, Klonipin, lamotrigene, verapamil, gabapentin, topirimate, buprenorphrine and nimodipine. I also have to supplement the thyroid.

Chris, what kind of results did you have on them, especially Topamax? Was it helpful, and how about the cognitive problems?
