Effexor and weight gain

My wife gave birth to our son 4 months ago. She started
losing the pregnancy weight about 2 months later. Then
she started experiencing post-partem depression. The doctor
prescribed Effexor. A few weeks later she started feeling
much better however she started gaining weight like crazy!
Now she's depressed again except this time it's the weight.
Has anyone experienced this weight gain?
