> Yesterday I finally convinced my doctor to give Naltrexone a try, in response to advice received on this board...I think from John L. It took four weeks of being out of work, but he finally agreed to give it a shot. Last night I took my first 25 mg with dinner. Had no side effects other than being sleepy this morning...and I swear I can feel a difference already, even though it's raining cats and dogs outside! Of course a part of me is saying "Well, maybe you're just having one good day"...but I am really hopeful this is the answer for me now! I can even think about going back to work, which seemed totally impossible to me yesterday. I'll keep you posted...and thanks for all the support!

The doctor who pioneered the use of Naltrexone augmentation has had a lot of success. I supplied my pdoc with all the literature I could gather from Dr Bob's resources, and he gave me a trial of it. Sadly I was in the 25% group that isn't helped by it. And my pdoc has since tried it with a few other patients without success. It's strange how things vary so much from one doctor's office to another's. The realworld results with Naltrexone are very encouraging though. I think my pdoc has just had a string of bad luck. Your good luck will help balance it out, so I'm wishing you the best. JohnL
