> Lynne - Zyprexa is always started at a low dose unless the excessive drowsiness is needed (eg in some cases of mania). Docs start low and increase slow to allow the body to adjust to the drug. The Zombie feeling should disappear within the first week and amy or may not return as you increase the dose. For the first couple of days though it is probably not a good idea to drive a forklift, fly the shuttle or give an important presentation. Falling asleep in meetings is not that big of deal, as I do it all the time (sit beside someone you know who can nudge you for the question and answer part). I find it best to start a new drug on Thursday or Friday, so one has time to adjust to it while at home. Hope this helps - Cam w.
Cam,
Thanks for the advise. I love your sense of humor. My new job really does require driving a fork lift! But I already quit after a couple of days.It wasn't the job for me. So I am taking some time to try and get my brain in order, what a challenge!
